How to Help

Support Our Mission

Every day, Animal Protection Association (APA) gives homeless, abandoned, and mistreated cats and kittens a second chance. As an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we rely entirely on the generosity of our community to make that possible.

Each year, APA spends approximately $200,000 caring for the cats and kittens entrusted to us. Every dollar comes from donations, fundraising events, and proceeds from our Purr-fect Treasures Thrift Store.

The vast majority of our budget goes directly toward caring for our cats, including:

Shelter maintenance and supplies

Veterinary care

Medications

Food

Litter

Only 3% of our annual budget is used for administrative expenses such as our website, phone, and post office box—and because we are an all-volunteer organization, no donations are used to pay salaries.

Veterinary care alone averages $180 for each kitten, while our adoption fee is just $80. The difference is made possible by caring supporters like you.

Your donation helps provide medical care, food, shelter, and love for the more than 200 cats and kittens who come through our doors each year while helping us fulfill our mission of rescuing and finding homes for forgotten cats and kittens in our community.
